Behind the BRUH: Keeping the Whole Show Running

If you put my week on paper it looks like a scheduling error. Two dogs. A flea infestation on a treatment cycle. A disability that sets the daily budget. Family that needs attention and gives pressure in the same breath. An LLC with paperwork that keeps asking for one more document. And an app that I am building, promoting, supporting, and fixing by myself.

None of those wait their turn. That is the actual difficulty. It is not that any single item is hard. It is that they all run at once.

The paperwork show

Forming BRUH FIND YOUR CREW LLC was the part I thought would be a formality. It was not.

Every step wanted proof of the step before it. A number to open a thing, the thing to verify a number, an email that arrives in three to five business days and then does not. I have refreshed an inbox waiting on a verification email while a dog needed a bath and a vacuum sat in the middle of the living room.

It got done. It is real. But it consumed weeks I had mentally assigned to building.

The household show

Fleas do not negotiate. Wash everything, treat everything, vacuum, wait, vacuum again. The dogs get baths they did not agree to. I sit on the floor afterward and tell them they are good boys, because they are, and because they have no idea why the house turned into a project.

There is no version of this where I skip it to work on the app. It is care. It comes first.

The family show

Family pressure is its own category because it is not hostile. It comes from people who love me and want to know when this turns into something. I do not have a date for them. I have a lot of work and a slow line going up.

Explaining a slow build to people who care about you is harder than explaining it to strangers. Strangers do not worry about you.

And then the app

Here is the center of this one.

I am not going to pretend the numbers are where I wanted them. They are not. Sometimes I check the signups and there is that drop in my stomach, because I really did imagine more people would be here by now. I feel it. I sit with it for a minute. It is disappointing, not neutral.

Then the same thing happens that has happened every time since I started. Something in me says: do not give up, keep pushing.

So I do. Even with the vacuum still out, the dogs needing me, family stuff happening, and another verification email waiting somewhere, I keep building.

That is not a triumphant ending. It is just what actually occurs.

What keeps the show running

Care first, then work. Dogs, household, family. If I invert that order everything gets worse, including the app.

One real thing a day. Not a heroic day. One thing that moves BRUH forward. Over months that adds up in a way that feels like nothing while it happens.

Do not let the number be the verdict. Slow growth is information about reach and timing. It is not a ruling on whether adults need platonic friendship. They do. I am sure of that part.

Count the real people. Every actual signup is an adult who wants a crew nearby and decided to try. That is not a rounding error to me.

Keep it honest in public. I would rather write this than post a fake win. If BRUH grows, I want the record to show what the early part really looked like.

What BRUH still is

Adults only, 18 and up. All genders welcome. Platonic friendship, not dating. Local boards for making actual plans, a way to find people nearby without handing over your exact location, and messaging built so nobody gets buried in noise.

That has not changed and it is not going to.

Where I am, plainly

Growth is slower than I hoped. I feel that. I am still here, still building, still promoting, still learning what works and what does not.

If you are running your own whole show, the household, the body, the family, the paperwork, and the thing you are trying to make, I am not going to tell you it gets easy. I will tell you the sentence that keeps working on me, in case it works on you too.

Do not give up. Keep pushing.
